Urban Mud is an awesome ceramics studio. After working from home for several years, I was looking for a new pottery studio in Denver, and Urban Mud has been great. It’s clean, has tons of equipment (wheels, a slab roller, and all the tools you need), and the clay community here is inclusive and welcoming. I’ve enjoyed meeting the other artists and having a great space to create.
I’ve been working out of Urban Mud for several months and I really enjoy the space. 24/7 access is great to not be limited in how often I can come in.
I have been with Urban mud for a few weeks now and I am loving the community aspect of an art studio! Everyone I have met and interacted with has been so kind! And the hours for members is 24/7 so I can come and go whenever works best for me which is awesome too! I absolutely recommend becoming a member here and being apart of this rad creative community!
I was a member at Urban Mud from 2024–2025. The studio advertises unlimited access, but due to poor ventilation, the toxic fumes from the kilns often flood the studio, making it uncomfortable and unsafe to work. The lack of proper ventilation poses a serious health risk, as prolonged exposure to these fumes can lead to respiratory issues and other health complications. While the owner implemented a temporary fix, it’s not a long-term solution, and the issue continues to affect member safety. Throughout my time there, important changes were often made without notice, leaving members to adjust last-minute. When I raised concerns and asked for a fair resolution during my final month, I was dismissed and asked to clear my shelf. It was frustrating to end my time at the studio this way, especially after working for the studio owner. I hope the studio improves both safety measures and communication in the future.
Urban mud is run by an awesome woman, and is an amazing space to make ceramics - any artist would be lucky to have a spot at this studio. All you have to do is email Mary!
