I treated my friend here for her birthday, and we both had such an amazing time! We took the beginner class and absolutely loved it. The instructor was super nice and helpful—he guided us step by step through the whole process. After shaping our clay, he torched it and let us decorate with a variety of cute stamps (so many to choose from!). He even helped us take photos after the class, which was a nice touch. We each ended up making a flower vase and a bowl. Just a heads-up: you’ll need to wait about 30 days to pick up your finished pieces since they need time to be fired, glazed, and properly dried. Overall, it was a fantastic experience—fun, relaxing, and very beginner-friendly. Highly recommend it if you’re looking for a unique activity in Philly! The class was about 2 hours long and totally worth it. Bonus: there’s plenty of parking out front and along the main road.
Yay Clay! One word AMAZING !! My husband surprised me by celebrating my birthday here , and it was the perfect way to spend my day . The studio had such a welcoming, relaxed vibe, and it was BYOB so we were able to enjoy some drinks ! There were also a few free arcade games to play. Our instructor Clare , was fantastic! She was super friendly, approachable, and so knowledgeable. She made sure everyone felt comfortable, regardless of skill level, and guided us through the pottery process with ease. She made sure we all left with pieces that we liked. If you're looking for a fun, memorable way to celebrate a special occasion with family or friends, this class is a total win. I can’t recommend it enough! 5 stars for sure! Note - Street parking. Update ! 3/19 we picked up our creations and are so pleased with how they came out ! We can't wait to make more pieces !
This was my first experience making anything with clay. Our instructor was clearly pro and very helpful in fixing our mistakes without losing the character of our own creations. The studio is absolutely adorable and such a cute space for being creative. Will definitely go again. Parking was questionable, we parked in the lot down the street on the left and was okay.
What an absolutely fantastic experience my fiancé and I had at Yay Clay! We were so excited to pick up our pieces yesterday, and the reveal was truly beautiful. We're both incredibly proud of what we created, and that's all thanks to the wonderful guidance of our instructors. We definitely can't wait to come back again!
What a great experience! Did a 2.5 hours class where we had the option to make a bowl, vase, mug, or cup. I chose to make a little matcha bowl. The instructors, Clare, Katelyn, and Rachel were extremely helpful and kind throughout the whole experience. It is a cute space and they send you a code to enter the building. I would suggest doing this especially as a first date. They offer 8 week courses as well.
