I completed the first 5-week pottery course that started in January and had so much fun! I've never done pottery before and learned so much from Mike, the instructor. He's so friendly and easy to talk to. I love that the wheel throwing classes are intimate so everyone gets help. I've already been back since the course and plan to keep coming back!

I recently took a wheel throwing class at this pottery studio with Mike, and it was a fantastic experience. The instructions and demonstrations were clear and easy to follow, which made the whole process really enjoyable—even for a beginner like me. The studio itself has a welcoming and creative atmosphere, making it the perfect place to learn and experiment. Mike was patient, knowledgeable, and encouraging throughout the class. I’m already looking forward to coming back for more sessions. Highly recommend!

I just received a text to pick up my finished bowl! I’m very excited to see how it looks and thought this was a good time to give a proper review of my experience. I am a first time wheel thrower and didn’t know what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised with how low stress of an activity this was. Mike, our instructor informs everyone that regardless of your skills, you will walk out with a finished piece of pottery. He walks you through the steps and offers help if you get lost or left behind. I’ve been at classes before where I don’t feel comfortable asking for assistance, but Mike is incredibly approachable. You’ll get a text about 2 weeks after your first session. You have the choice to pick your piece up as is or can pay an additional fee to come back and glaze it. I think I paid a total of 50-60 dollars (pottery session+glazing). A good deal in my opinion to receive hands on help! The people that take these classes have all been very kind, creating a lovely atmosphere for someone new :)

Such a fun and affordable pottery studio! Love the variety of events, and it’s fun to go solo or with friends. The owner is also super nice and flexible. I’ve done wheel throwing, magnets, socials, and more. Follow @potterychicago on Instagram and TikTok for class schedules and inspo!

Mike is very talented but a horrible teacher. He spends most of the class trying to avoid helping anyone then just jumps in at the end to do it for you. He’s also so rude to his staff legit made me so uncomfortable when he yelled at his staff for saying the water was too dirty he was like “no it’s fine!” And even I felt bad for her. Lastly they ruined my hard work by having pieces of unglazed clay attached to my bowl making it unsafe to use. I asked them to fix it and they said no we can’t then they just walked away from me. I would never ever come back here!
